Rhizopon

Rhizopon manufactures products based on the plant hormone indolylbutyric acid and markets them in many countries within and outside Europe. The products are used for rooting cuttings in the cultivation of ornamental crops, ornamental plants and flowers.

This plant hormone is produced by the plant itself for the production of roots. To ensure that the process runs smoothly and that the plants develop high-quality roots, the cuttings are treated with Rhizopon products at the supplier of starting material or at the grower's. This can be done by dipping in cutting powder or a treatment with a liquid of Rhizopon tablets dissolved in water. Well-rooted plants grow faster and are stronger because they can absorb more nutrients and moisture and are therefore less susceptible to diseases and pests. The grower experiences another benefit; more plants can be delivered at the same time. This saves space and the deployment of labour, because fewer plants or flowers are left behind with the grower.

In Europe and several other countries outside it, an authorization is required for the sale and use of indolylbutyric acid products. Rhizopon is the only marketing authorization holder in Europe to defend the active ingredient indolylbutyric acid. Safe use according to label is guaranteed by testing the applications for risks to humans, animals and the environment by evaluating bodies within the EU.
