The AIR-POT has an all around structure similar to that of an egg carton, with holes at the ends of the cones pointing outwards. The inwardly pointing cones guide the roots to the outwardly pointing cones. As a result, the roots always grow towards an air hole.
When the root approaches the air hole, the airtightness and oxygen level in the soil changes and the tip of the root dries out. So the root is actually pruned by the air. To compensate for this air pruning, the plant will respond by creating more new roots, leading to a strong and dense root system in a short time.
Already very popular in arboriculture, this revolutionary approach prevents the roots from continuing to spiral, but ensures beautifully strong roots that can be repotted right away in any other container.
